Color Cosmetics
Color Cosmetics Many people avoid artificial colors in their foods, but not the color cosmetics and personal care products. It is only in recent years that cosmetics have started to see a full list of ingredients on the packaging. The meaning of the ingredients can be difficult for the layman. This is particularly true for dyes, often under the guise of numbers as names. In many countries the colors in cosmetics as a color index number. WZ data by the Society of dyers and colourists. The scheme applies to colors that are found in foods, personal care products, cosmetics, household and fabric dyeing. So, do not you see? Tartrazine? in your lipstick ingredients, but may not, as CI 19140. WZ erythrosine as 45,430, and so forth. The United States uses a different system: the FD & C colors are the categories of American Food & Drink Administration for use in foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. In this system, Tartrazine FD & C Yellow 5 and amaranth is FD & C Red 2. Il? And the number? The system is funded by the European Community (EC). This is a system of code numbers for food additives, some of which also in cosmetics and personal care products. This system is also used in some other countries, but without the E-prefix, so E102 is simply the color? 102?. All this confusion for the average consumer is not important, but also for the fact that some of these colors are known problems in susceptible individuals. For example, tartrazine (also known as FD & C Yellow 5, CI-1914 and EI02) can cause headaches, itching, rhinitis and agitation in susceptible individuals. Many people avoid their use in food, but do not realize how widely it is used in cosmetics such as lipstick, and personal care products. The main conces related to color cosmetics and personal care products are lipstick, lip balm for color, gloss and pencils for the lips, because anyone who uses this regularly? Dining? a good deal of his life, but also in these colors cream, foundation, mascara, and so forth. (Please note that these colors in the "natural" cosmetics and products for skin care.) Another conce is that even the "experts" can not be used at inteational level "safe" list colors, so that a color be admissible in a country, but elsewhere is prohibited. For example, quinoline is within the European Community and in some other countries but is banned in Japan, Norway and the United States. As always, the advice is: Stay up to date and read the label.
